HOW MANY HOURS AM I REQUIRED TO COMPLETE?For the 2024-2025 school year, a total of 25 hours per semester is required to remain a member of Key Club. This consists of at least 15 in-club hours and at most 10 out-of-club hours. In-Club Hours are from volunteer events that are organized by Green Hope Key Club, so simply, the events that you get emails about from Green Hope Key Club will count towards in-club hours. Out-of-Club Hours are from whatever volunteering that you do outside of Key Club. These must be approved by class representative and must be recorded via an out-of-club hours form. If you are part of a team or another school club (athletic, performance, or academic), you can automatically count 3. Out-of-Club Hours are not required if you get all 25 through In-Club Hours.
-
CAN I COUNT [APES HOURS, NHS HOURS, BETA CLUB HOURS, ETC] FOR OUT-OF CLUB KEY CLUB HOURS?"No. We do not allow hours to be counted if they are already counted somewhere else.
-
HOW DO OUT-OF-CLUB HOURS WORK?Out-of-Club Hours are from whatever volunteering that you do outside of Key Club. These must be approved by class representative and must be recorded via an out-of-club hours form (found here). In you are unsure if your out-of-club event will be approved by a class representative, please email your class representative with a description of the events before the event occurs. You may not duplicated hours done for another club, such as Beta Club, National Honors Society, or Cary Teen Council. There is a limit of 6 religiously-affiliated hours and a limit of 3 hours per project except religiously-affiliated events. (This limit pertains to volunteer events that occur on one day. If you volunteer at the library once a week, you may count each of those instances as their own.) If you are part of a team or another school club (athletic, performance, or academic), you can automatically count 3 (but still turn in the out-of-club hours form for it). You can get a maximum of 3 out-of-club hours for one school sport team per semester and 3 out-of-club hours for one school club per semester. You may not count multiple sports or multiple clubs per semester. Out-of-Club Hours are not required if you get all 25 through In-Club and K-Family Hours.
